Holy Celtic Church International (Derby)
The HCCI Derby is based at the heart of the Midlands a proud City with a strong manufacturing history which prevails today with links to companies such as Rolls Royce, Toyota and Bombardier. As titular bishop for Mercia and Wales I proudly serve the people and am available for Ministry in and around the local area. I am based at the Oratory of St John the Baptist near the City Centre a warm welcome awaits all who wish to receive pastoral care from us. The Holy Eucharist is the central act of Christian worship with its stately ritual, its deep mysticism and its abiding witness of the reality of sacramental grace- with the widest measure of intellectual liberty and respect for the conscience. We welcome to our Altars all who reverently and sincerely approach them. It permits its members freedom of interpretation of the Scriptures, the Creeds and the Liturgy. Each time we celebrate the Holy Eucharist there passes forth into the world a wave of peace and strength, offering each one of us the opportunity to become labourers together with God. Those who receive Holy Communion are brought by this blessed privilege into close and intimate union with Our Lord and Master.
Everyday we are reminded of the beauty, wonder and transcendence of God, a God so lovingly imaginative that the world in all its vast complexity is unique and diverse. That diversity in creativity touches humankind in each individuals colour and hue, shape and form, gender and sexuality. Yet even more wonderful is that each one of us is made in God's image and He delights in us, to the point of loving us unconditionally. To keep us mindful of that love God inspired some remarkable men and women over the centuries to write about Him and about life, those writings put together give us the Bible, the Word of God. Sadly the way the human race has developed, there are those who forget the Lord's reminder of how he thinks and acts: "my thoughts are not your thoughts and my ways are not my ways" (Isaiah 55:8) God is inclusive, God does not exclude, only people exclude. Our Heavenly Father and Creator loves us far more than we ever imagined. Jesus Christ came into the world out of love for us all, dying for our sins. The Holy Spirit draws us lovingly towards faith and the abundant life Jesus promises. Here at HCCI Derby all are welcome!
